Supporting Sustainable Cultural Work, Not Just Projects

Fiscal sponsorship allows this work to exist sustainably, responsibly, and at scale. All sponsored funds directly support the development, administration, and long-term viability of my projects as a curator, researcher, writer, and cultural producer.

Rather than separating “the work” from the labor that makes it possible, sponsorship here acknowledges that cultural production requires infrastructure, care, and forward planning.

One time donations or paid subscriptions to my Substack are sustainable ways of supporting my work.

I also remain open to collaborative projects sponsoring specific work, research, workshops, and exhibtions

How Sponsored Funds Are Used

  • Sponsorship enables collaboration and fair pay, including:

    • Designers, editors, photographers, and web developers

    • Audio, video, and digital production support

    • Consultants and specialists who help bring projects to completion

  • Because this work is often site-responsive and public-facing, funds may be used for:

    • Flights, accommodations, and local transportation

    • Printing and production of presentation materials

    • Conference participation, talks, panels, and site visits

  • Sustainable cultural labor requires stability. Sponsored funds may support:

    • Living expenses that allow focused time for research, writing, and production

    • Home upgrades that create space for hosting salons, dinners, and working meetings

    • Technology, furniture, or equipment that supports professional output

These costs are not ancillary — they directly expand access, relationship-building, and opportunity.

  • Many residencies and research opportunities require artists to cover part of their participation. Sponsorship may support:

    • Flights or transportation not covered by the host

    • Supplemental living or spending expenses

    • Housing contributions when partially subsidized

  • To remain embedded in the field, funds may be used for:

    • Museum, archive, and professional organization memberships

    • Admission fees for exhibitions, fairs, and research sites

    • Application and submission fees for grants, residencies, and fellowships

  • Funds support the formalization and growth of my practice, including:

    • Business incorporation and compliance costs

    • Legal, accounting, and tax services

    • Financial systems that ensure transparency and accountability

  • To maintain momentum and avoid burnout, sponsorship contributes to:

    • Part-time administrative or research assistance

    • Professional subscriptions and tools that optimize workflow, documentation, and publishing

    • Project management, archiving, and digital infrastructure

This work is long-term, research-driven, and deeply relational. Fiscal sponsorship allows supporters to invest not only in individual outputs, but in a sustainable ecosystem that pays the way forward — for me, my collaborators, and the communities these projects serve.
